Chromium(VI) Oxide
Chromium oxide is a highly reactive and corrosive solid that is typically used as an oxidizing agent and intermediate in the production of other chromium compounds. It is also used in the production of pigments and dyes, as a catalyst and in the electroplating industry. It is considered to be a carcinogen and exposure should be limited as far as possible. Functionally it can be described as chromic anhydride.
