Thermal Insulation Materials for Industrial Applications

Thermal insulation materials are used to limit heat transfer, reduce heat losses, and protect equipment or its components from high temperatures. They are applied, for example, in furnaces, boilers, pipes, fittings, flanges, and other technological devices.

The appropriate design is chosen based on the required function, operating temperature, equipment construction, and the conditions of the specific application. Individual designs differ in the materials used, construction, dimensions, and surface treatment.

They are available in various designs according to the method of use and desired properties:

• Thermal insulation boards and papers – used for thermal insulation of technological equipment and structures. Depending on the design, they allow for insulation of flat and curved surfaces, furnace linings, or pipes. Some materials can also be supplied as cut pieces and shapes of the required dimensions.
• Thermal insulation cords – woven or braided cords are used, for example, in furnaces, boilers, chimneys, tanks, and pipes. They are available in round and square designs and other variants according to the method of use.
• Thermal insulation tapes – woven tapes made of glass and ceramic fibers or carded glass HT fibers are intended for thermal insulation applications. They are available in various construction designs and surface treatments according to the requirements of the specific application.
• Thermal insulation sleeves – knitted sleeves made of various materials are used for thermal insulation of pipes and hoses or for protecting hydraulic hoses, electrical cables, and other components. Depending on the design, they may be coated with surface treatments of elastomers, silicone, or aluminum.
• Thermal insulation textiles – textiles made of glass, ceramic, carded glass HT, and other fibers. They are used for thermal insulation, the production of heat-resistant blankets and curtains, or textile compensators. Variants with surface treatments of silicone, elastomers, or aluminum layers are also available.
• Wound textile seals – sealing elements made from textile materials, including variants made from glass and ceramic fibers or PANXIDE A48 material.
• Thermal insulation covers – insulation elements manufactured according to the dimensions of specific equipment. They are used to reduce heat losses, for example, in fittings, flanges, valves, and other technological devices.
