Media leakage from a flange joint or fitting poses a risk of chemical burns or scalding to the operator. Safety collars passively eliminate this risk – they capture the leak directly at the source, without operator intervention. They do not replace the sealing of the joint, but provide an essential second line of defense.

Safety sleeves protect workers from injuries (scalding, burns) caused by leakage of the medium from the fitting. It does not address the tightness of the connection.

Safety sleeves are available for two main areas of use: flange joints and fittings including valves. Each area has its specifics regarding geometry, pressure and temperature load, as well as material selection.
For flange joints, we supply POWER®seal EnviGuard sleeves – made from a single piece, tested for capturing the first leak even with repeated use. For fittings and valves, we offer the Safeval range, available in 100% PTFE versions and for high-temperature applications (Safeval VT).
If the standard design does not meet the dimensions or operating conditions, we manufacture custom sleeves according to the provided dimensions.
Material selection depends on temperature, pressure, and the nature of the media: - 100% PTFE – for aggressive chemical media and ATEX environments, resistant to degradation by the media and temperature. - Stainless Steel – for high temperatures and pressures. - Special Designs for explosive atmospheres (ATEX zones).
Sleeves for flange joints are available for standard DN/PN and ASME B16.5 dimensions. For fittings, safety valves, blind flanges, and non-standard fittings, we manufacture custom.
The collar captures the media discharge in the event of a sudden failure of the joint or fitting and protects the operator from direct contact with the media. It does not address the tightness of the joint – that is the role of a properly designed and installed seal. Both measures complement each other.
POWER®seal EnviGuard is designed for flange joints – it envelops the entire joint including the seal and bolts. Safeval protects fittings and valves – it is available in a 100% PTFE version (Safeval) and for high-temperature applications (Safeval VT).
