Crude oil, > 121 °C - Chemical resistance

Oil boiling above 121 °C represents the heavier fraction of crude oil. It contains predominantly higher aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. This fraction is used for the production of lubricants, paraffins and asphalt. It is also used in the petrochemical industry to produce polymeric materials. Higher boiling point crude oil is also important in the energy sector, where it is processed in refineries into various fuel products and chemicals.
