Benzoic acid solution is a solution of benzoic acid in a solvent. Benzoic acid is a white crystalline solid that is used as a preservative in food and in the manufacture of plastics, resins and other chemicals. Benzoic acid solution is used as a preservative and antimicrobial agent in a variety of products, including food, personal care and pharmaceutical products. It is generally considered safe for use in reasonable amounts, but in high concentrations can irritate skin and mucous membranes.
