2-Methylpropane
Isobutane, also known as methyl propane, is a colourless, highly flammable gas that is used as a refrigerant, fuel and raw material for the production of other chemicals. It occurs in natural gas and crude oil and is also produced as a by-product of petroleum refining. In industry, it is used as a raw material in the production of other chemicals such as isobutylene, which is used in the production of synthetic rubber and other materials.
