PAN
Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is a synthetic polymer made from acrylonitrile monomer. It is a semi-crystalline and high-strength material that is commonly used in the manufacture of various carbon fibre composites due to its high thermal stability and high carbon content. PAN fibres are also used as reinforcement material in various polymer matrix composites, including fibre reinforced plastics, and have applications in various industries such as aerospace, construction and sporting goods.
