2-Hydrobenzoic Acid
Salicylic acid is a type of beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that is widely used in dermatology and skin care. It is a colorless crystalline substance that is extracted from willow bark and has been used for thousands of years for its medicinal properties. In addition to its medicinal uses, salicylic acid is also used as a preservative in food, as a pH regulator in cosmetics and personal care products and as a starting material in the synthesis of other chemicals.
