Sodium metaborate is a chemical compound that is used as a reducing agent and pH regulator in a variety of industrial and chemical applications. It is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water and is commonly used in the manufacture of borosilicate glass, as a pH buffer in electroplating, and as a flux in welding and brazing. Sodium metaborate is also used in the manufacture of flame retardants, dyes and in water and waste water treatment.
