Sodium sulfate salt cake refers to the solid residue that remains after evaporation of brine or salt water that contains high amounts of sodium sulfate. The salt cake is usually whitish or grey in colour and crystalline in appearance. Sodium sulphate salt cake is an important raw material in a number of industries, including the manufacture of detergents, paper, glass and textiles. It is also used as a filler in some building materials and as a component of some types of fireproofing compounds.
