Octadecanoic Acid
Stearic acid (octadecanoic acid) is a white, solid fatty acid found in animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is used as a hardener in soaps, candles and cosmetics and as an ingredient in food products such as chocolate. It is also used in the rubber and pharmaceutical industries.
