Special Seals for Chemically Demanding Environments and High Temperatures

In addition to our standard range of flat, spiral-wound, and metal seals, we provide specialized solutions for applications where conventional materials are insufficient. Teflon envelopes offer universal chemical resistance compared to traditional sealing materials without compromising sealing properties. Pass-through seals made from heat-resistant textiles modified with elastomers are designed for boilers, high-pressure vessels, and pass-throughs requiring reliable sealing at high temperatures and pressures. Both groups of seals are available custom-made in any shapes, sizes, and material combinations.

Industries and Typical Applications

What is a Teflon sleeve and when to use it?

A Teflon sleeve is a thin layer of PTFE that wraps around the internal sealing filler (e.g., a fiber-reinforced rubber plate or layered graphite). The outer PTFE layer ensures chemical inertness to virtually all media – thus, the sleeve protects the sealing material that would not be chemically suitable on its own. It is primarily used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries, where the aggressiveness of the medium is compounded by hygiene requirements for the safety of materials in contact with the product.

How to choose the right type of penetration sealing?

Two criteria are decisive: temperature and medium. For standard applications with water, type B or C will suffice. Where sealing is exposed to oils or solvents, choose type A with oil-resistant rubber. For extreme temperatures – for example, penetrations in steam boilers or industrial furnaces – type D made of fiberglass resistant up to 750 °C with reinforcement from stainless steel is intended. If you are unsure, send us the operating conditions and we will advise you.

Do you manufacture penetration seals in non-standard sizes?

Yes. We manufacture penetration seals in circular and oval shapes in any dimensions and thicknesses according to drawings, samples, or specified dimensions. Combinations of materials and custom rubberizing are also possible – for example, different rubber densities or specific fiber reinforcement. Contact us with your required specifications.
